ESC'S DARRYL MAXIMILIAN ROBINSON IS PLEASED TO PRESENT HIS THEATRE DON MAXIMILIANO VIDEO SERIES RECORDED AND RELEASED THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER OF 2026!
The Theatre Don Maximiliano video series is a seven-part collection of short, comedic, improvised monologues co-created in early September 2026 as a Free-To-View artistic endeavor by veteran stage actor, play director and Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago and Excaliber Shakespeare Company Los Angeles Archival Project Founder, Artistic Director and Producer Darryl Maximilian Robinson and veteran stage and screen actor, singer, musician and Excaliber Shakespeare Company Los Angeles Archival Project Creative Team Member Danny Belrose, with ongoing writing, direction and recording by Mr. Robinson.
Initially filmed (in its debut segment) by Danny Belrose in a black-and-white, mafia-style pastiche ( with all subsequent episodes filmed and recorded by Darryl Maximilian Robinson in color ), the overarching plot follows an enigmatic theatrical advisor ("The Theatre Don") navigating industry updates, street rumors, and an elusive nemesis, "Donnie Cusamano".

Video 1: The Debut at Belrose Place (Labor Day, Sept 7, 2026)
What Happens: Filmed at "Belrose Place" in Los Angeles ( in black and white video ), The Theatre Don Maximiliano played by Darryl Maximilian Robinson makes his first appearance after a holiday meal.
He introduces his persona and ( while being questioned by an unseen individual ) HE FOLLOWS HIS PERSONAL CODE AND NEVER REVEALS ALL, but he immediately establishes his focus on noting activities of the mysterious, hidden theatrical figure known as Donnie Cusamano.
Video 2: The Black Theatre Alliance / Ira Aldridge Awards Message (Sept 13, 2026)
What Happens: Standing in his private Los Angeles office, The Theatre Don delivers a special comedic address to dispel rumors regarding his visit to Belrose Place and to also honor the upcoming 2026 Black Theatre Alliance / Ira Aldridge Awards.
He weaves real-world theatrical milestones—including his own past Chicago stage history—into his character's monologue.
Video 3: The SCOTUS Celebration & Free Plays at The DTLA Public Library (Sept 16, 2026)
What Happens: Standing on the balcony of his private residence, The Theatre Don rejoices over a real-world Supreme Court decision regarding mail-in election ballots. Shifting back to industry advice, he strongly recommends that visiting actors, directors, and writers visit the Central Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library to read scripts and plays for free.
However, his comments are interrupted by his viewing a mysterious car with tinted windows pulling up to the street entrance of his house. Having a "Donnie Cusamano" moment, The Theatre Don cuts the conversation short to check with his assistant regarding matters of home security.
Video 4: The JFK Memorial Center Protest & Marilyn Monroe (Sept 19, 2026)
What Happens: Relaxing in his private office early in the morning after a walk, The Theatre Don shares breaking performance art news. He notes that over a thousand citizens formed a human chain around the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts to protest administration threats, while also noting the late President's historic friendship with screen legend Marilyn Monroe.
Video 5: Calling For Voting For Nominations For The 2026 Broadwayworld Los Angeles Awards (Sept 21, 2026)
What Happens: This segment features the Don delivering a monologue while walking on a working-class Los Angeles neighborhood street, where he encourages the entire local theater community to vote in the 2026 BroadwayWorld Los Angeles Regional Theatre Awards.
Video 6: The Mysterious Package With An Inscription Arrival (Sept 23, 2026)
What Happens: Focusing his thoughts entirely on a package placed on a chair in his private office, The Theatre Don addresses a brief scare regarding a mysterious car with tinted windows that pulled up to his house.
The driver turns out to be harmless, leaving behind a package containing a copy of author Tim Kinsella’s latest book, Danny B.
The Theatre Don opens the book and dramatically recites a real-life inscription written inside by Danny Belrose himself.
Video 7: The Grand Finale & A Mayor Zohran Mamdani Opera For All At The MET Salute (Sept 24, 2026)
What Happens: Operating from his private office, The Theatre Don officially brings the video arc to a close.
In his final character monologue, he passes along a formal salute to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and praises the Metropolitan Opera for their ongoing community arts partnerships to bring FREE OPERA to 70,000 citizens of The City of New York.
The Theatre Don Maximiliano also explains the time has come for him to bid a fond farewell to all before signing off for good.
