"Darryl Maximillian Robinson is #70 in my 100 Strangers Project. My family and home-school group went to the production of "A Christmas Carol" on Tuesday and I knew I wanted to get one of the actors as a stranger. Christmas Present was standing there at the exit, greeting the children. He was so fantastic as Christmas Present and had a lovely deep bass singing voice (it is a musical). He was friendly as well and gave me his bio for the project. Darryl is a critically-praised and award-winning stage actor, director and producer. He is appearing at the Glendale Center Theater for the first time!" -- MEG, The Ghost of Christmas Present, The 100 Strangers Project of Flickr, Dec. 14, 2010.

During the late fall Holiday Season of 2010, veteran and award-winning Chicago-born and stage-trained actor Darryl Maximilian Robinson, who had previously won the 1981 Fort Wayne News-Sentinel Reviewer's Recognition Award as Outstanding Thespian of the Season for his performances in professional summer stock at northern Indiana's Enchanted Hills Playhouse, including most notably as Fagin in Lionel Bart's Oliver!, and who more recently earned critical praise and a 2019 BroadwayWorld Chicago Award Nomination for Best Performer In A Musical or Revue ( Resident Non-Equity ) for his portrayals of the dual roles of The Chairman Mr. William Cartwright and The Mayor Thomas Sapsea in the 2018 Saint Sebastian Players Chicago revival production of Rupert Holmes' The Mystery of Edwin Drood at the lovely, more than a century old, St. Bonaventure Church in the Windy City, had a wonderful time on stage in a third musical adaptation of a Charles Dickens literary classic when he appeared as The Ghost of Christmas Present and Others in talented and skilled director Tim Dietlein's 2010 annual musical production of 'A Christmas Carol' presented in-the-round at the charming ( and now much-missed ) Glendale Centre Theatre of Glendale, California.
The GCT's, highly-popular, multi-decade, long-running, annual production utilizes a couple of originally composed songs, and several traditional and classic Christmas hymns and carols for its score ( mostly sung acapella ) and some gorgeous period costumes from designer Angela Wood.
Mr. Robinson was delighted in being photographed on stage in his character attire as A Caroler, The Poultry Man, and, of course, The Ghost of Christmas Present.
And a true highlight of the production for Mr. Robinson was the chance to play his trio of roles opposite the late and wonderful character actor and comedian Mario Di Gregorio, a skilled and gifted performer who for many years engaged and delighted audiences with his performance as the miserly Ebeneezer Scrooge. Mr. Robinson learned much from appearing in the show and has a lovely scrapbook of memories from his time onstage in this unique musical staging of Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol.'
