Darryl Maximilian Robinson Recalls His 2012 Role Of Stanley C. Dunklin, Jr. in The Smiley Face And The Frown Entertainment Group's Los Angeles World Premiere Production Of "Rest For The Weary Spirit"

Your humble servant in The Theatre, Darryl Maximilian Robinson, provides notes and photos on the April and May of 2012 Smiley Face And The Frown Entertainment Group's LA world premiere production of "Rest For The Weary Spirit."
Worlds collide at a seedy motel in "Rest For The Weary Spirit," a gritty new drama from playwrights Chicago area playwrights Mark Mason and Ellen Chambers and west coast director J.P. Rapozo.
At the sleazy Hideaway Motel in small-town Illinois, a different drama unfolds in every room: a bride-to-be waits not for her wedding but for a male prostitute, a lead singer of an all-female Sam Cooke tribute band wakes up next to a stranger, and a conservative pundit concocts sinister plans for the next chapter in American history.
Filled with sordid sex, lost loves and shattered dreams, "Rest For The Weary Spirit" is a grim snapshot of modern America aimed at mature audiences.
The 2012 Smiley Face and The Frown Entertainment Group's Los Angeles world premiere production of "Rest For The Weary Spirit" starred Nadia Marina as Bridget Marie Brinarsky, Jennifer Cain as Melanie Spindler, West Perkinson as Gary, Matthew Gilliam as Perry Madison and Darryl Maximilian Robinson as Stanley C. Dunklin, Jr.
Your humble servant in The Theatre, Darryl Maximilian Robinson ( a lifelong Democrat ), was pleased and proud to star as the unscrupulous Illinois Republican political operative Stanley C. Dunklin, Jr. in the 2012 Smiley Face And The Frown Entertainment Group's Los Angeles World Premiere Production of Mark Mason's and Ellen Chambers' drama of sex, lies and politics "Rest For The Weary Spirit" presented in April and May of 2012 at a Studio Theatre in The Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles.
Under strong direction from J.P. Rapozo ( an award-winning theatre artist and Co-Founder of The Smiley Face And The Frown Entertainment Group ), and featuring a fine group of talented young fellow actors, your humble servant in The Theatre, Darryl Maximilian Robinson, considers the part of the vile and plageristic Stanley C. Dunklin, Jr. ( a fictionalized character based on the writings of real-life Barack Obama critic Stanley Kurtz ) in "Rest For The Weary Spirit " to be his #10 Best LA Stage Role!
Most recently, Darryl Maximilian Robinson was named a winner of a 2022 Making The World Happening Award for his numerous online theatre-related offerings at Allevents.in during the early years of the Covid-19 pandemic.
