Darryl Maximilian Robinson as Mayor George Shinn in The Young Stars Theatre Revival of Meredith Willson's 'The Music Man' Shares His Photo Shoot by Eric Michael Hernandez of Cirquelife!

Your humble servant in The Theatre, Chicago-born and stage-trained actor and play director, Darryl Maximilian Robinson, Founder of both multiracial chamber theatres, The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago and The Excaliber Shakespeare Company Los Angeles Archival Project, recalls a most memorable photo and video shoot.
On Tuesday Night April 12th of 2022, During A Dress Rehearsal of The Young Stars Theatre of South Pasadena revival of Meredith Willson's classic American musical 'The Music Man,' Actor Darryl Maximilian Robinson who was cast as Mayor George Shinn in the production and Actor Eric Michael Hernandez who was cast as Constable Locke in the show, took some time off the stage to create a photo shoot and video collection promoting the theatre piece being staged at The Fremont Theater Center at 1000 Fremont Ave. in South Pasadena, CA.
There were three different videos recorded to promote the revival.
Darryl Maximilian Robinson who was cast as Mayor George Shinn in 'The Music Man' has appeared in over 250 live theater and literary arts presentations around the country during his 50 years of involvement in the Performing Arts. Unfortunately, due to multiple artistic differences with the show's producers, and his own serious personal concerns due to The Covid-19 pandemic, he left the production just before opening night.
Talented Photographer, Editor, Videographer, and Performing Artist Eric Michael Hernandez made his public musical theatre stage acting debut in the role of Constable Locke and other ensemble roles in 'The Music Man.' A noted Native American Hoop Dancer, Mr. Hernandez has delighted many audiences as he toured internationally as a Featured Performer with Cirque du Soleil.
Darryl Maximilian Robinson has won numerous awards and honors for his performance work in The Theatre including the 1981 Fort Wayne News-Sentinel Reviewer's Recognition Award for Outstanding Thespian of the Season for his performances in professional summer stock at northern Indiana's Enchanted Hills Playhouse ( particularly for his portrayal of Fagin in Lionel Bart's "Oliver!" ); both a 1997 Chicago Joseph Jefferson Citation Award for Outstanding Actor In A Principal Role In A Play and a 1997 Chicago Black Theatre Alliance / Ira Aldridge Award nomination for Best Leading Actor In A Play for his critically-praised performance as Sam Semela in The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago revival of Athol Fugard's "Master Harold And The Boy;" a 2015 / 2016 Los Angeles Elate Season Ticket Holder Award nomination for Best Actor for his well-received performance as Ernest in Tad Mosel's classic one-act of Life In The Theatre "Impromptu" as part of a bill of short works staged at North Hollywood's Lincoln Stegman Theatre entitled "Just 4 Fun;" and a 2019 Broadwayworld Chicago Award nomination for Best Performer In A Musical or Revue ( Resident Non-Equity ) for his performance in the dual roles of The Chairman Mr. William Cartwright and Mayor Thomas Sapsea in the 2018 Saint Sebastian Players of Chicago revival of Rupert Holmes' Tony Award-winning Best Musical Whodunit "The Mystery of Edwin Drood."
Eric Michael Hernandez is a veteran of The Cirquelife Experience and has presented many well-received video stories which he shares at his Cirquelife You Tube channel.
Most recently, Darryl Maximilian Robinson was named a winner of a 2022 Making The World Happening Award from Allevents.in for his numerous online theatre-related offerings during the early years of the Covid-19 pandemic.
