DARRYL MAXIMILIAN ROBINSON REMEMBERS WORKING WITH ACCLAIMED AMERICAN VOICE ACTOR CAREY MEANS.
Most folks in the entertainment industry note the gifted animated television and film voice actor Carey Means for such characters as Frylock on 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force'. But long before his deserved international voice character fame, skilled stage actor and singer Carey S. Means was an invaluable member of The Acting Company of Excaliber Productions, Ltd in his native St. Louis, Missouri.
Thus, when veteran Chicago and Los Angeles stage actor and play director Darryl Maximilian Robinson ( The Founder of the multiracial chamber theaters Excaliber Productions, Ltd in St. Louis, The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago and The Excaliber Shakespeare Company Los Angeles Archival Project ) looks at Carey Means, he sees and remembers his roles as Pozzo in Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot," Prince Richard the Lionheart in James Goldman's "The Lion In Winter," Elyot Chase in a musical version of Noel Coward's "Private Lives," Rueben in St. Louis playwright Robert Friedman's "A Man of Experience" ( opposite future television and film actor Danny Belrose as Jake ), and Willie Malopo in Athol Fugard's "Master Harold And The Boys," to name a few presented at such Gateway City venues as The Central West End's Historic Second Presbyterian Church, The Wabash Triangle Cafe near University City, and Downtown St. Louis' Cummel's Cafe Studio Theatre during the early 1990s. Carey Means was and is one of the finest actors Darryl Maximilian Robinson has acted with and directed during his nearly 50 years of performing the arts.
Recently, the wonderful Carey Means, this talented actor, singer, voice artist and truly fine human being has experienced serious financial and health issues, being diagnosed with congestive heart failure. His loving and loyal wife, Leah Means, has begun a GoFundMe page on his behalf. All thoughts, prayers and donations to support Mr Means would be greatly appreciated.
