During the Christmas Holiday Season of 2013, Chicago-born and stage-trained thespian Darryl Maximilian Robinson ( a 1997 Chicago Joseph Jefferson Citation Award Winner for Outstanding Actor In A Principal Role In A Play for his performance as Sam Semela in The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago revival of Athol Fugard's 'Master Harold And The Boys' at The Windy City's Heartland Cafe Studio Theatre and a 2022 Making The World Happening Award Winner for his numerous online theatre-related offerings at Allevents.in ) was cast as 1940s radio personality and comedian Harry "Jazzbo" Heywood in The Kentwood Players' revival staging of Joe Landry's "It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" presented at The Westchester Playhouse in Los Angeles.
Playing 1940s voice actor Harry "Jazzbo" Heywood in a live radio broadcast version of the classic Frank Capra film and story of the local Bedford Falls, New York hero George Bailey, gave Darryl Maximilian Robinson ( who also starred as The Announcer in the March 11, 2020 Ark Theatre of North Hollywood's Old Tyme Radio Hour preview performance staging of "The Dick Tracy Radio Show" ) the opportunity to portray multiple characters in the story including George's friend and romantic rival, Sam Wainwright, and George's younger brother, Harry Bailey, as seen in the video clip featured below.
However, the character in the story that Darryl Maximilian Robinson derived the most joy in playing "On-The-Air" and on stage in Joe Landry's "It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" was that of George Bailey's guardian angel, Clarence Odbody, AS2!
